Show a PDF on a Meeting-Room TV or Projector

Your proposal on the room’s screen. Your laptop turns the pages.

Your PDF on the meeting-room screen. Your laptop turns the pages. Open vuthis.com on the TV or projector's display computer, connect from your MacBook or Windows laptop and choose the document. There is no app to install and no HDMI cable from your presenting laptop.

This walkthrough uses V U This, a browser-based display tool made by our team. It is useful when the room already has a screen and you want to show the proposal, agenda or slides without changing its cables.

1. Open the browser on the room's screen

On a TV with a usable web browser, open vuthis.com. Leave the connection code visible.

For a projector, open the same page in the browser on the computer already driving it. A room PC, mini PC or connected laptop can supply that browser. You do not need to move the projector's existing cable to your presenting laptop.

The distinction matters: the room's display needs a browser route. The projector does not need to run the browser itself.

2. Connect your MacBook, Surface or Windows laptop

On your own laptop, open vuthis.com/r and enter the code shown on the room's screen. You can use a phone instead by scanning the on-screen QR code.

Both devices need internet access. They do not need to share a Wi-Fi network, which is useful when your laptop uses guest Wi-Fi and the room computer uses the office network.

3. Choose Document and show your PDF

In the controller, select Document, choose the PDF and select Show now. Use Previous and Next to move through the pages while you talk.

The screen shows the selected document rather than a live mirror of your desktop. Your other tabs, messages and notifications stay on your controlling device.

Start with Fit page for slides, diagrams and one-page proposals. Use Fit width for a tall document that needs larger text; Previous and Next move through it a screenful at a time.

Present PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides

Export your presentation as a PDF, then use the same Document steps. In PowerPoint or Keynote, use the PDF export option. In Google Slides, download the presentation as a PDF document.

This workflow presents the exported pages. Before the meeting, open the PDF and check that its text, charts and page order look right. Use the original presentation software when you need its animations or embedded playback.

Use the same setup for photos

For a portfolio, project update or photo slideshow, choose Photos in the controller and select the images. This works well when the room needs to see the finished work rather than the rest of your laptop screen.

For the quickest start, have the PDF or photos ready on your laptop before connecting. Open the first page, check its readability from the back of the room and keep the controller open for page changes.

If the TV has no browser

Use a browser on the computer already connected to the display. A screen being a smart TV does not by itself establish which browser features it supports.

The TV, projector and classroom browser-setup guide on GitHub explains the available routes for home TVs, conference projectors and professional displays. It also separates devices seen in actual sessions from broader equipment setups.

Once the room's browser page is open, the routine is the same: connect, choose the file and show it.
