Your training handout on the projector. A visible timer when the exercise starts. Control the room's screen from your phone or laptop while the display computer stays where it is.
V U This separates the chosen display content from the device you control with. That is useful in a workshop where you want to walk between tables, change a PDF page from your seat or give everyone the same visible break time.
Prepare the two things the room needs
Save a PDF of the slides, exercise instructions or worksheet on the controlling device. PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides can all export a PDF. Check the pages before the session and keep the exercise instruction on a page of its own.
Decide the activity duration and the short label people need to see, such as “Group exercise” or “Back from break”. You can set a timer in the controller rather than looking for a separate timer video during the session.
Show the training PDF
- Open vuthis.com in a browser on the computer already driving the projector.
- Connect your phone with the screen's QR code, or connect a laptop at vuthis.com/r using the screen code.
- Choose Document, select the PDF and choose Show now.
- Use Fit page for a complete slide or diagram. Change pages with Previous and Next.
The projector's existing connection stays in place. The controlling device does not need to take over that cable. The same arrangement can use a large TV or classroom display when a browser is available on the screen or its connected computer.
Put the exercise timer on the projector
When the exercise begins, choose Timer, set the duration and label, then show it on the screen. Use the timer controls to pause or restart when the session needs it.
Choose a short label that explains what happens when the time ends. “Return to your seats” is clearer than an unexplained number counting down. Check that participants at the back can read both the time and its label.
When the activity finishes, return to the PDF through the controller and choose the next instruction page. This walkthrough switches between the two screen types; it does not rely on a timed playlist or show them simultaneously.
Make the next workshop easier
Keep a folder with the final PDF and a short running order. Note which PDF page starts each activity and the duration you plan to use. That saves searching through files while people wait.
Both the display and controller need internet access, but they can use different networks. Before attendees arrive, check the [room-screen checklist](meeting-room-screen-checklist.html), especially the browser, connection code, first page and readability.
For the individual controls, see the PDF/projector walkthrough and countdown timer instructions.
Open the display page, connect and show the first instruction. Keep the controller with you for the rest of the workshop.
