Show Keynote Slides on TV From a MacBook or iPhone
Export Keynote to PDF, then show the slides on a TV or projector. Use a MacBook or iPhone as the page controller without mirroring the desktop.
Your Keynote slides fill the TV. Your MacBook or iPhone turns the pages. Export the presentation to PDF, open vuthis.com on the display and connect from the device holding the file.
This gives a page-based presentation route when the room needs the proposal, diagrams or prepared slides. You choose the document to show rather than mirroring the rest of your Mac's desktop.
Prepare the Keynote presentation
Export the Keynote deck as a PDF and save it where the controlling device can select it. Open the PDF before the meeting and check the slide order, fonts and diagrams.
If you plan to control from an iPhone, make the exported PDF available on that phone before entering the room. If it is already on your MacBook, use the MacBook browser as the controller instead.
Connect and show
- Open vuthis.com in the TV's usable browser, or on the computer already driving the projector.
- On an iPhone, scan the display's QR code. On a MacBook, open vuthis.com/r and enter the screen code.
- Choose Document and select the Keynote PDF export.
- Choose Show now, then Fit page for a complete slide.
- Use Previous and Next on your own device while presenting.
Keep the useful distinction in mind
The screen shows the exported PDF pages. It does not play the original Keynote presentation's animations or embedded media. Choose the original presentation workflow when those elements matter to the talk.
The controlling MacBook or iPhone does not need an HDMI cable to the display. The room may already have a computer connected to its TV or projector; its browser can supply the display page while your device keeps the controls.
Both devices need internet access, but they do not need to share Wi-Fi. Check the first page from the back of the room before the session begins.
See the TV and projector device routes for the room setup. The [PDF slides video](/watch-powerpoint-on-tv.html) demonstrates the same display-and-page-control routine with a presentation exported to PDF.
