Now Serving Number on TV: Control a Queue Counter From Your Phone

Show a large now-serving number on a TV and update it from your phone. A browser-based counter display for counters, reception areas and small venues.

The current serving number on the TV. Update it from your phone or laptop as the queue moves. Open vuthis.com on the display, connect and choose the counter the room needs to see.

A clear, single number can help at a collection counter, registration desk or small service area. Someone operating the service controls the value, while visitors can see the current number across the room.

Put the counter on the shared screen

  1. Open vuthis.com in the TV's usable browser, or on its connected computer.
  2. Scan the screen QR code from your phone. A laptop connects at vuthis.com/r by entering the display code.
  3. Choose Counter, prepare the starting value and the label you want visitors to read.
  4. Show it on the screen and use the counter controls as the number changes.

Give the number a clear meaning

A large number needs context. Use a label such as “Now serving” or “Collect at the desk” so a visitor understands what to do when their number appears.

Check the display from where the queue waits. The number and label should remain readable without someone walking up to the TV. Choose a starting value before the service begins and keep the controller with the person responsible for updates.

Fit it into the service you already run

This is a displayed counter controlled by an operator. It does not by itself issue tickets, manage bookings or connect to a point-of-sale system. Use it where showing the current value is the job you need solved.

For event registration, the number can sit beside the team's existing process. For a collection point, agree who changes it so visitors receive a consistent instruction.

Both display and controller need internet access, but they do not need shared Wi-Fi pairing. The controlling device does not need an HDMI cable to the TV. Use the TV's browser or a browser on the computer already driving it.

The counter instructions explain the feature. For directions that change during the day, use a [reception welcome message](/reception-tv-welcome-message.html) or the [office notice-board workflow](/office-notice-board-on-tv.html).
